Some localised flooding can be expected in parts of the west over the next 48 hours.
A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning's now in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, while a similar alert takes effect in Cork and Kerry from midday.
They're due to expire at 3am on Saturday.
Mid-week update:
Although strong winds from ex-#HurricaneSam will not impact Ireland, it's path will push a very mild tropical airmass across us.
This will bring unseasonably high temperatures, with some areas possibly seeing 20°C tomorrow 📈

Liz Walsh of Met Eireann says the worst of the rainfall will have past by late tomorrow night due.
She says it's a result of a frontal zone "effectively stalling" over western areas.
The poor conditions are the tail-end of Hurricane Sam which has been active over the Atlantic.
