A man in his 30s remains is in Garda custody, over a fatal assault that took place in Co Meath overnight.
A woman in her 20s was pronounced dead in a house in Rathmore, outside Athboy, at around 5 o'clock this morning.

After emergency services arrived the woman was discovered unresponsive and with stab wounds.
She was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 30s, who is believed to be known to the victim, was arrested and is being held at Ashbourne Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The woman is believed to be from Eastern Europe and had only moved to the area in the past 12 months.
Her body remains at the scene, which is currently preserved for a technical examination.
