A woman has been killed in Limerick in a fatal assault this afternoon.
It's believed the assault happened at around 1.30 this afternoon at a house on the Dock Road in Limerick city.
The woman aged in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene and her body remains at the scene - which is being preserved.
Full examinations will be carried out while the State Pathologist will make arrangements for a post-mortem to be carried out.
