A 41 year old woman has died after she was hit by a car shortly after 7pm tonight on the N68 at Darragh on the main Ennis to Kilrush Road in Co.Clare.
She was taken to University Hospital Limerick where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, a man in his forties, was unharmed.
The road is closed with local diversions. Gardai say a technical examination will take place at first light.
