A woman in her 70s was killed in a crash in Clare this afternoon.
A car and a truck collided on the N68 Kilrush to Ennis road at around 4pm.
The woman who died was the driver of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene - the driver of the truck wasn't hurt.
Her body has been brought to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The road is closed and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Kilrush Garda Station.
