A 40 year old woman has appeared in court charged with murdering Wayne McQuillan at their home in Drogheda, early yesterday morning.
The 30 year old died after he was stabbed during a New YearÂ’s row at Rathmullen Park.
This evening, Paula Farrell was brought before a late sitting of Dublin District Court in the Criminal Courts of Justice, beside the Phoenix Park.
Garda Andrew Corbett gave evidence that she made no reply when charged after caution at Drogheda Garda Station this afternoon.
The 40 year old wore dark trousers, a cream top and a denim jacket in court and remained silent during the hearing, which lasted only minutes.
Judge Michael Walsh granted her legal aid and remanded her in custody to appear at Drogheda District Court next Wednesday.
He also directed that Paula Farrell receive appropriate medical attention, both physical and psychiatric, while she is in custody, after her solicitor raised concerns about her health.
