A woman has been arrested and charged after a garda was allegedly coughed on in Co Sligo today.
At around 3:15pm this afternoon, gardaí received reports of a group of people 'congregated and drinking' at Riverside in Sligo town.
After gardaí arrived at the scene, a woman in her 30s refused to provide her details to officers.
According to the force, she "then proceeded to allegedly cough on a member, implying that she had coronavirus".
The woman was arrested for public order offences and taken to Ballymote Garda Station.
She has since been charged, and is due to appear before a special sitting of Carrick On Shannon District court this evening.
