A woman in her 40s has been arrested on the suspicion of murder after the discovery of a body in Dublin.
The victim, a woman in her 80s was found dead in a property at Seville Place at around 11.50 am this morning, with Gardaí saying her body remains at the scene.
The scene is being preserved for a full technical examination to be carried out, while the State Pathologist has been informed.
It's expected a post-mortem will be carried out later today.
Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body earlier today.
The person who was arrested, a woman in her 40s has been arrested and is being questioned at Store Street Garda Station.
Anyone who was in the Seville Place area recently are being asked to contact Gardaí in Dublin.
In a statement, they said "any person with any information which may be relevant to the Garda investigation should contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8089, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
