WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been jailed for 50 weeks for skipping bail.
It comes following his arrest last month.
He had spent nearly seven years holed up in London's Ecuadorian Embassy.
Assange had been trying to avoid extradition to Sweden to face sexual assault claims.
His lawyer spent around half an hour trying to get the sentence reduced.
Wikileaks has reacted to Assange's sentence on Twitter:
Julian Assange's sentence is as shocking as it is vindictive. We have grave concerns as to whether he will receive a fair extradition hearing in the UK.
