A Co. Wicklow primary school is banning its students from using smartphones.
Following a survey, more than 91% of parents voted in favour of banning them.
Pupils at St. Cronan's in Bray have begun the new school year today.
Basic mobile phones which can be used for calls and texts are still allowed.
However, they must be switched off at all times.

Principal Maeve Tierney, says they've banned smartphones to keep their students safe:
"We have had to deal with issues such as cyberbullying, we have children accessing material with adut content".
"This is an issue for schools right across the country".
