Irish people are living longer than ever before, with our life expectancy up 22 years in the past 10 decades
According to CSO figures, women here have a life expectancy of 82.5 years while that figure for men is 79.6 years.
Those figures vary county-by-county.
Men living in the mid-east region, which includes counties like Kildare and Meath, are expected to live until their 80.3.
Meanwhile women in the West of Ireland, -in places like Roscommon, Donegal and Galway - are thriving, with a life expectancy of 84.5 years.
On the other end of the scale is the mid-west.
Men and women living in counties Clare, Limerick and Tipperary have a slightly lower life expectancy.
Men in this region are expected to live until their 79 while women there have a life expectancy of 82.5 years.
