Cheerios have come out as one of the healthier breakfast options as part of a new food rating scale.
It was developed by researchers at Tufts University in Massachusetts and rates foods out of 100.
Cheerios were rated in the top 20 percent, with a score of 95 out 100, while Shredded Wheat got a score of 83.
The system looks at 54 'nutrition attributes' analysed against nine diet-related diseases including obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
