The government has been advised to close all pubs and restaurants at 5pm, as soon as possible.
Cabinet Ministers will consider NPHET's latest recommendations to slow the spread of the Omicron variant later today.

NPHET have also proposed that cinemas, theaters and sporting events should also be subject to a 5pm curfew and be capped at half capacity.
Owner of the Two Sisters Pub in Terenure, Deirdre Devitt says the Government can't keep closing and reopening businesses.
"What is the plan? We need a living with covid plan."
She said there will "always be something" but it's the Government's responsibility to keep doors open.
Meanwhile the HSE CEO Paul Reid said nobody would envy the decision that needs to be made by Cabinet.
Ministers will meet today to consider the recommendations.
