Warning From Revenue Ahead Of Black Friday
Revenue is warning that if Black Friday deals seem too good to be true, they usually are exactly that.
It's urging online shoppers to double-check the website URLs before spending money online.
It says a ".ie" web address doesn't always mean the business is based here, and non-EU deliveries will be subject to extra charges.
Today FM's Tech Correspondent Jess Kelly says people shopping in a physical store should read up on products first:
"Particularly if you are buying the big ticket items in Black Friday [like] technology.
"So whether that is a dishwasher or fridge, whatever it is, have your research done before you go into a store.
"Verify that the device that you're buying is going to do what you need and wanted to do.
"As I said, don't get suckered in by the bells and whistles or the black tag.
"Make sure that it is fit for purpose."
