Vodafone has become the first telecoms operator in the country to launch a 5G network.
It is going live in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford today.
There are plans for further expansion over the coming months.

The company says 5G will have a huge impact on tech in nearly every industry.
It's capable of much faster downloads than 4G and 3G technology and can manage larger volumes of data.
You will need a 5G ready plan, 5G coverage and a 5G phone to connect to the Vodafone 5G network.
