Vatican officials questioned over clerical abuse

A leading Vatican official has told a UN committee that clerical sexual abuse could 'never be justified' - saying every child should be 'inviolable'

Officials from the Holy See are facing questions in Geneva over historical allegations of prolific child abuse in the Catholic church.

The Vatican's former Chief Prosecutor of sex abuse says countries must investigate members of the clergy who cover up child abuse.
