An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the European Council President are set to meet in Dublin today.
Their meeting comes with the Brexit countdown clock reading 10 days, and ahead of a crucial summit of EU leaders later this week.
Mr. Tusk has previously said:
"I will appeal to the EU27 to be open to a long extension if the UK finds it necessary to rethink its Brexit strategy and build consensus around it."
Donald Tusk has been on his travels around Europe during the week, meeting with a number of leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Meanwhile, the British Prime Minister is expected to formally request an extension beyond the March 29th deadline.
Theresa May's hopes of getting the deal through the UK Parliament were dealt a blow yesterday, after House of Commons speaker John Bercow ruled it couldn't be voted on for a third time, unless it had significant changes.
