The Tanaiste says it will be the end of April/early May at the earliest when non-essential shops or hairdressers can reopen.
Leo Varadkar says any easing of restrictions on April the 5th will be quite limited.
The relaxing of the 5km rule, some outdoor activities and construction are set to be the only areas to change.
Mr Varadkar said: 'Reopening of shops, personal services, hospitality… that wouldn’t be happening on April 5th. That would be a later date: You’d be talking realistically the earliest... end of April or early May.'
The Tánaiste said there are lots of areas where they could consider easing restrictions, such as the limits on funeral attendance.
