The first Covid-19 vaccine in the Republic will be administered today.
The roll out of the vaccine programme will start at four hospitals, Beaumont and St James' in Dublin, and Cork and Galway University Hospitals.
HSE chief executive Paul Reid says today represents a 'beacon of light' in the fight against Covid, and is urging people to unite behind the vaccine programme.
Today, a great beacon of light starts to shine, as we commence our vaccination programme. Let's all galvanise and unite behind this. It will take time but stay positive, stay safe, stick with us and we will get there. @HSELive #COVID19
