People aged between 65 and 69 may be able to register for their Covid vaccine as soon as next week.
An online portal is due to go live in the week commencing April 19th for members of the public to book their appointment.
However, HSE CEO Paul Reid says he has asked to see if that date can be brought forward.
Speaking at the HSE press briefing this afternoon, Mr Reid said "We have a portal technically available. I've asked the teams to look at that and see if it is feasible to bring it forward, which would be at some stage into next week".
Meanwhile, the health minister says he's 'open' to giving more freedom to people who have been fully vaccinated.
The latest figures show 273,701 people have received both doses of their covid-19 vaccine.
They may no longer have to isolate themselves if they are identified as a close contact of a Covid case.
It's one of several 'vaccine bonus' proposals being considered today by NPHET.
