US politicians have agreed a deal to avoid the country defaulting on its debt, with just hours to go before technically running out of money.
Congress has passed legislation allowing America to temporarily keep borrowing money until early February.
The legislation also means hundreds of thousands of federal employees will be allowed to return to work.
President Barack Obama signed the bill ending the two-week US government shutdown.
It brought to an end an agonizing political drama that had raised the prospect of an unprecedented US debt default and left markets around the world spooked.
The government says it will try to get back to full operating status as smoothly as possible but these Americans are furious that politicians took so long to reach agreement.
