Ursula von der Leyen has been nominated to become the next leader of the European Commission.
Germany's Defence Minister will become the next EU Commission President if a majority of European Parliament members support the move.

Meanwhile, Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, has also been named as the proposed president of the European Central Bank.
There had been days of deadlock at the talks in Brussels, as heads of state met to agree a deal.
The European Parliament now will vote to ratify the new candidates.
