Two people have died following a house fire in Roscommon.
The blaze broke out in the early hours of this morning at a home in Gurth, Ballinasloe.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the fire at about 2 am.
When they made their way into the home the bodies of a man and woman were found inside.
They were in their mid-40s.
Gardai say they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The bodies of the man and woman have been removed to Galway University Hospital.
Post-mortem examinations are due to be carried out.
