Two men in their 20s have been killed in a road crash in Co Mayo.
It happened just before midnight on the Balla to Claremorris road, when a car and a lorry collided.
The young men were both occupants of a car, which collided with a lorry at around approximately ten to 12 last night, on the N60 at Facefield.
The men in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their bodies have since been removed to the mortuary at Mayo University Hospital, for post-mortem examinations.
The driver of the lorry, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road is currently closed and a forensic examination will take place at the scene this morning.
Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to come forward.
Any road users with video or dashcam footage is asked to make it available to investigating officers.
