Two men have been charged and remanded in custody following a special sitting of Kilcock District Court over a major drugs haul in Kildare yesterday.

The men are to appear in Cloverhill District Court on Friday 25th October.

Aidan Dorrian, 41, of Claddagh Road, Ballyfermot, was charged with possession of cocaine and heroin and possession of cocaine and heroin for sale or supply.

John Breen, 53, of Johnstown Bridge, Enfield, faces four charges; two for possession of cocaine and heroin and two further charges relating to the sale or supply of both drugs.

Detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit searched a house at Johnstown Bridge in Co Kildare yesterday where cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of up to 2 million euro was discovered.

Mixing agents were also seized, and Gardai have described the scene as a "sophisticated mixing factory".

There was no application for bail.

Judge John Coughlan was told there would be a bail application next Friday.
