Two men have been arrested after a fully loaded gun was seized in Westmeath.
The semi-automatic Makorav handgun was recovered yesterday in Rathowen.
It was found after Gardai searched a vehicle in the area.
The operation was carried out by detectives who were investigating organised crime activity in Dublin.
The two men who were arrested are from the capital.
They're being held at Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda Stations.
