Two men have been arrested and charged, after a man was assaulted by two men posing as Gardai in West Dublin.
It happened at around 11 o'clock on Sunday night a man in his thirties was stopped by a car with a flashing red and blue light in the front windscreen, at Luttrelstown Way, in Castleknock in Dublin.
When he looked for ID, they attempted to drive away but returned when they saw the vehicle's registration was being recorded.
One man got out of the car and assaulted the man that had stopped.
A man in his early 20s and a man in his late teens have been charged and bailed in connection with the investigation and will appear at separate court hearings next month.
