Social media website Twitter is to create 100 jobs at its Dublin office.

The recruitment will double the size of its Irish operations to more than 200 people by the end of 2014.

The positions will be across multiple roles, including sales, H-R, finance, marketing and engineering.

Twitter which opened its European HQ in Dublin in 2011 has 200 million active users worldwide.

Commenting on the recruitment plans plans, Twitter’s Managing Director in Ireland, Stephen McIntyre (@stephenpmc) said:

“In less than two years we have gone from one employee to more than 100 people in our Dublin office, with staff working across more than ten business functions. Twitter employees have a real opportunity to make an impact on the business. We are already recruiting for over 30 roles including legal, HR, sales, marketing and engineering positions.”
