Tusla has ordered the closure of four Hyde & Seek creches in Dublin.
The facilities at Tolka Road, Shaw Street, Milbourne Avenue and Glasnevin are all to close on 31st December.
It comes after serious concerns were raised about the level of care in an undercover Prime Time documentary
Following their decision to deregister the Hyde & Seek creches, the child and family agency today says it will fast track any applications for new childcare providers in the area.
Hyde & Seek today confirmed they'll appeal the decision.
The company said: “We do not accept the outcome of the regulatory process. Since the airing of the RTE programme we have continued to work to ensure we adhere to the highest standards.
"We are very confident in the service provided at all four of our creches and will appeal this decision.”
Tusla said in a statement: "Tusla acknowledges that parents will find themselves in the difficult position of finding alternative childcare providers in these areas, and has notified the Department of Children and Youth Affairs of our concerns, who are working with the local City/County Childcare Committees to make support available to parents.
"Tusla also acknowledges the impact on staff at these services."
In July, RTÉ reporters exposed a series of issues at the Hyde & Seek chain in Dublin, including overcrowded sleeping areas.
The programme led to widespread scrutiny of the system of inspections at childcare facilities.
Today, Tusla announced it will publish any decisions to remove services from the early years' register on its website in the future, as well as publicly communicating details of deregistered services.
