Efforts will resume today to try and find an Irish professor who's been reported missing while trying to descend Mount Everest.
Seamus Lawless from Bray, County Wicklow works at Trinity College and reached the peak of the world's highest mountain yesterday.
However, the 39 year-old was reported missing while trying to come down from the summit.
Lawless was part of an eight -member expedition that includes a number of Irish climbers.
Trinity College has released a statement saying:
“Seamus and his family are in our thoughts during this extremely distressing time.
This morning his family, friends and colleagues shared his joy on reaching the peak of Mount Everest.
We hope that Seamus is found safely as soon as possible and until then we will be offering any support we can to his family.”
