Sympathies are being extended to the family of Ronan Keating following the tragic death of his older brother Ciarán.
Mr Keating was killed in a collision with another car on the M5 in Co. Mayo on Saturday afternoon.
He was travelling to Sligo with his wife to watch their son take on Sligo Rovers in a football match.
The driver of the second car and Mr Keating's wife were treated at Mayo University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries..
Westport Independent Councillor Christy Hyland says the community will rally together:
"Our thoughts are also with Ciarán's wife who is in hospital at the moment as a result of the accident".
His death was the first of four fatalities on Irish roads over the weekend.
