The Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar is urging trade unions to reconsider their position and to call off today's strike.
Workers at Dublin Bus are continuing with strike action this afternoon, demanding management come to the table and compromise on new cost-cutting measures.
It's after workers rejected a deal of nearly 12 million euro in cost savings by the company.
The strike will cause disruption for around 230 thousand passengers in the capital.
Minister Varadkar, says 'the action targets those who have no other alternative to public transport and exacerbates the financial position at Dublin Bus'
SIPTU Transport Sector Organiser Willie Noone says his members want to know there is an end game.
