Three has announced it will not be renewing its sponsorship deal with the Football Association of Ireland.
The telecoms company has invested €30 million in Irish football over the past 10 years.
Three's deal with the FAI will come to an end in July 2020.
The decision to not renew the deal comes just a matter of days after John Foley decided not to take up an appointment as new interim CEO of the the FAI.
Foley felt he didn’t have enough support in the FAI.
Government funding has been suspended at the beleaguered FAI for a number of months amid concern at governance.
Three's Chief Commercial Officer, Elaine Carey has said this about the company's decision not to renew their sponsorship deal with the Football Association:
“Having recently reviewed our full sponsorship portfolio, we have decided to consolidate our sponsorship investment in the area of music”.
The company has also wished Irish teams at every level the very best in the future.
