Thousands Raised For Hero Who Stopped Parnell Square Attack
A GoFundMe account to buy Caio Benicio a pint for what he did yesterday has raised over €100,000.
The organisers described him as a hero and asked for people to donate so he knows the people of Dublin appreciate him.
Caio Benicio stopped the attack at Parnell Square East yesterday afternoon.
The Brazilian delivery driver described how he got off his bike and tackled a man hitting him with his helmet to the ground.
A five-year-old girl and a woman in her 30s are in hospital in a critical condition following the incident on Parnell Square East.
Another young girl - six years old - is still being treated for less serious injuries.
While a five year old boy has been discharged from hospital.
A man was also hospitalised - who Gardaí have described as a person of interest in the case.
It's believe he is an Irish citizen who has lived here for 20 years.
