Several thousand people have taken part in a protest outside Leinster House in Dublin over budget cuts to the elderly.
The event was held to oppose measures including changes to the over 70's medical card and the ending of the Bereavement Grant.
They are also hitting out at the prescription charge increases and the scrapping of the Telephone Allowance.
A similar protest in 2008 resulted in a reversal of the then government's decision to end the automatic entitlement to a medical card for over 70's.
