Future changes to the hurl and sliotar may be made.
It's off the back of new research carried out by Dublin City University.
DCU is looking for graduates in mechanical engineering, who know a few things about 'the clash of the ash'.
It's for research into the mechanical properties of their relationship.
The hope is that the mechanical testing will help the GAA, ensure hurleys are up to standard.
It will be undertaken by a robotic system which will be developed to match the human body, and test hurley to sliotar impact.
