A multi-agency operation is underway on Mount Street in Dublin city to clear the so-called "tent city".
The area around the International Protection Office was closed off this morning as asylum seekers were moved off the street, with a large Garda presence in the area.
Yesterday, the Taoiseach said the refugees involved will be offered safe shelter elsewhere, and that "makeshift shanty towns" won't be allowed to develop in the area in the future.
Today FM reporter, Stephanie Rohan, who's on Mount Street, says asylum seekers are being put on buses.
" There's a huge Garda presence in the area, and what is happening is officials and masks are going around from tent to tent.
"They're taking people's names [and] they're asking them questions.
"People are packing up their belongings, they're wrapping up their duvets.
"I was talking to one man, he told me he's from Nigeria, and he said he's not entirely sure what's going on, but he's been told he has to move".
Around 200 asylum seekers are due to be relocated after an encampment had developed around the International Protection Office on Mount Street in the past year.
Residents and local businesses were among those raising concerns about the tents which has been highlighted for some time.
International media have arrived in Dublin to cover the issue.
