The city of Tel Aviv has installed LED lighting on footpaths in a bid to stop mobile phone users blindly walking into traffic.
The 'zombie traffic lights' aim to minimise accidents between motorists and inattentive pedestrians.
The strip of lights will turn green when it's time to walk and red when it's not.
Similar systems have worked in Australia, the Netherlands and Singapore.
