A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a mother-of-two who died following a stabbing in Dublin’s IFSC .
48-year-old Urantsetseg Tserendorj was stabbed while walking home from work on January 20th but died two weeks later in hospital.
Her husband Ulambayar stayed by her bedside and close family members flew over from Mongolia.
The boy, who cannot be named because he is a minor, was arrested and remanded in custody after a brief court appearance on Jan 23rd.
He was aged 14 at the time of the incident and was originally charged with assault causing harm, attempted robbery and unlawful possession of a knife as a weapon.
However, the case was upgraded to murder when he appeared again at the Dublin Children’s Court today.
He nodded and winked to a family member on his way into court, which heard he replied "nothing" when asked if had anything to say after being charged with murder this morning.
The boy has not yet indicated how he will plead.
He was remanded in custody pending the preparation of a book of evidence.
He will appear again in one week at the Children’s Court.
