Taxi drivers are looking for a one euro increase in fares to tackle rising fuel costs.
The price of a cab ride was due to rise in 2020 but the pandemic delayed the measure.
Spokesperson for the National Taxi Forum, Darren English, says the price of fuel has risen by more than 50 per cent and drivers are feeling the pinch.
It comes as oil prices hit a 14 year high in recent days.
It hit $139 a barrel at one stage but has since fallen back a little.
Those prices haven't been seen since the financial crash of 2008.
The US and Europe are also now considering an outright ban of the import of Russian oil.
