Taoiseach Enda Kenny says he can't remove the controversial suicide clause from the abortion Bill.
Enda Kenny said it would be "unconstitutional" if suicide was not recognised as grounds for a termination.
The EU Affairs minister Lucinda Creighton had been seeking the removal of the clause - and is set to quit the government if it remains.
However, Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the provision must remain a part of the legislation:
