The Tanaiste has urged people not to book flights to come back home to Ireland for Christmas.
Leo Varadkar told the Dail it's too early to do so, as we don't know what covid-19 restrictions will be in place.
His words come with just 6 weeks to go until Christmas.
Meanwhile, some backbench Fianna Fáil TDs have called for the government to implement level 2 restrictions when the lockdown expires on December 1st.
However, the decision will largely rest on advice from the Chief Medical Officer.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has told the Dáil people should not make travel plans:
"I think in terms of people booking flights for Christmas to come home - I would advise them not to do it at the moment".
"I know that's difficult, I know that's tough, but Christmas is six weeks away. It's too soon now for people to be booking flights to come home".
