Student nurses will be paid for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
There are currently 4,000 students working in Irish hospitals.

Health Minister Simon Harris says they will all be offered contracts Healthcare Assistants and will be paid accordingly.
A Healthcare Assistant earns €28,000 a year.
This will allow students to complete their placement in an HCA role and continue to complete their course.
