Met Eireann's upgraded its wind warning to status red for a number of counties in the west, northwest and east, ahead of Storm Darragh's arrival on Friday night.
The red level warning comes into effect from 10 pm in counties Mayo, Clare and Galway from and from 11 pm for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo.
Both red level warnings will last four hours each, with the first ending at 2 am on Saturday and the second at 3 am on Saturday.
While, Wicklow will be under a status red wind warning from 1am until 6am.
The entire country is subject to an Orange wind warning from 10 pm on Friday, while Munster and Connacht will be subject to the warning from 8 pm. Both of those warnings last until 10 am on Saturday.

A status yellow wind warning is in place across the country from 3 pm - lasting 24 hours until 3 pm on Saturday.
A status yellow warning for rain is in place for Connacht, Clare, Donegal, Longford, Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath and Westmeath from 10 am on Friday, until 10 am on Saturday.
