Gardaí in Offaly have recovered six valuable oil paintings that were stolen from a Co. Galway church nearly three years ago.
The six paintings by Irish artist Evie Hone were stolen from the Church of St. Peter & St. Paul, Kiltullagh in county Galway in June of 2013.
They are part of a set of 14 images from the stations of the cross and are said to worth several thousand euro.
The paintings were recovered in wasteland near Edenderry and will now be sent for forensic examination.
Gardaí say no one was arrested during this phase of the investigation.
