A status yellow snow and ice warning is now in place for six counties.
The warning affects Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow, Meath and Monaghan.

Met Eireann says these counties can expect snow accumulations of 2 to 5 cm in places.
The alert will remain in place until 6pm tomorrow evening.
Meanwhile, across the country tonight it will be very cold with further scattered wintry showers.
Lowest temperatures will drop to between -3 to +1 degrees.
