A weather warning is in place in for parts of the midlands and north-east today as heavy rain hits the country.
Met Éireann's issued a yellow alert, which is in place until 10 o'clock tonight.
It says spot flooding could be an issue with up to 40mm of rainfall possible in places.
Forecaster Liz Gavin says the warning includes parts of Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Monaghan and Cavan.
These areas can expect to see some slow-moving bands of rain today and also spot flooding.
