Heavy rain is forecast today for counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
A status yellow rain warning for the three counties in the south of the country is in effect until 6 am on Thursday.
Met Eireann is warning of hazardous driving conditions as a result.
Prolonged rainfall and localised flooding are expected for the rest of the day and overnight on Wednesday.
