The State will not appeal a High Court decision not to extradite Ian Bailey to France.
The court ruled earlier this month that he should not be sent to France where he faces a sentence for the murder of Sophie Toscan de Plantier in west Cork in 1996.
Last year, a court in Paris found him guilty of the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
It was the third attempt by French authorities to seek Mr. Bailey's surrender.
Just a few days before Christmas 1996, Sophie Toscan du Plantier was found dead outside her holiday home in Schull in west Cork.
Ian Bailey was arrested twice but has never been charged with her murder here.
Bailey insists he had nothing to do with what happened to the French filmmaker.
