The Chief Executive of St. Vincent's hospital in Dublin has tonight revealed that he's paid almost 300,000 Euro a year.
The hospital group came under fire last week for refusing to disclose to the Public Accounts Committee any top-ups it was paying to senior staff.
In a letter to the Director General of the HSE this evening, Nicholas Jermyn breaks down his Eur292,669 salary.
The CEO of the St. Vincents Healthcare Group says he gets 136,000 from the HSE, and slightly more than that from a privately funded salary - plus a car allowance of 20,000 Euro.
However, Mr Jermyn is adamant that his salary is not funded from charitable donations.
He stresses that Vincents is unique - because it operates both public and private hospitals.
He says the group funds his salary from the operation of St. Vincent's private hospital.
However, St. Vincent's Healthcare Group is also a not for profit organisation with charitible status - and is in receipt of public funding.
Its management are due back before the Public Accounts Committee in January to answer questions about staff renumeration.
